Osprey

It is hard to describe my delight in finding ospreys spend their winter at a lagoon in Portugal where I am lucky enough to have a home. Perhaps it is because, like my, they eat fish and not meat (not strictly true but allow me my delusion) I find osprey the most captivating of all birds of prey. Watching a dive, headlong into the sea is breathtaking. Then the struggle to get back out the water with their catch is awe inspiring - that they have to do this multiple times each day earns my total respect for these fabulous birds.
